Neutral Ground

neutral top B

My Summer wardrobe usually consists of obnoxiously bright colors with small specks of neutrals to bring the drama down…just a tad.  I love how a vibrant piece of clothing can make a day better, brighten your complexion or share a happy mood with the world.  There is also something so appealing about the neutral side of fashion.  Classic black and white is forever in rotation and with luggage tan and a pop of leopard, it’s a refreshing break from the hyper-pigmentation Summer brings.

With beach season calling, I’ve begun to rally my maxi’s and bikinis for the season ahead.  I will admit, I sometimes forget that a simple beach cover-up doesn’t need to be so simple.  With the addition of the right accessories, a black beach maxi is instantly kicked up a notch.

Double Up

Having always loved my denim, I’m a sucker for a good double dose of it.  When I stumbled upon these vintage, distressed gems in Sydney a few years ago (and paid 20 dollars-score), I knew they would join my collection.  Natural or man-made, a good pair of cutoffs are essential for warmer weather-and I personally believe, make any Summer more fabulous!

Peplum Remixed

It absolutely feels like Summer is in full effect and with the 4th right around the corner, crisp white denim and flirty tops are on my mind.  I unintentionally had a red, white & blue moment over the weekend (already dreaming of beaches, BBQ & fireworks).  I decided to revisit the peplum trend, loving it’s shorter sibling that lends itself to oceanfront festivities.

Pouch Power

Throughout my travels, moves and daily life, I’ve come to find my trusty tote just doesn’t seem to cut it in all situations.  Enter the pouch.  My first experience with one was when I purchased my black pebbled Clare Vivier years ago before she had her own store fronts in NYC and LA. Since then, I’ve added many more in various colors and fabrics.

The pouch falls somewhere between a coin purse and a clutch.  Perfect for riding in a larger tote to hold all you goodies, but mostly these babies pack a punch by themselves as the perfect accessory.
