Romp

With half my wardrobe still in suitcases (we move to our permanent place in 2 weeks!) low maintenance outfits have been my go to option.  The romper is an easy way to make an impact with a print or bright color, all neatly wrapped up in on piece of clothing.  I loved the neutral print on this one, which lends itself perfectly to bright pops of color.

Maxi mix

maxi ring

I usually try not to play favorites with my wardrobe; however, when I first purchased this grey maxi skirt before my honeymoon last year, I had no idea how versatile it would be.  For once, I packed super light for our trip to Anguilla and soon realized I needed more.  Our first dinner out, I wanted something easy and effortless, so I turned my skirt into a dress and cinched it at the waist with a homemade belt.  The concept worked perfectly.

I have since worn this piece every which way.  It continues to be a perfect staple that I highly recommend.

City

city crop

City living has really been a huge factor in the evolution of my style over the years, and with my recent move, I can see this trend will continue.  Growing up in a smaller town, my fashion sense was always influenced solely by how an item looked, never functionality.  Having lived in Sydney and now NYC, where walking is my transport and the weather is never constant, wardrobe selection must include layers and functionality.  An easy denim jacket, warm scarf for the cooler morning and a city short, made for transitional perfection.

Park Ave

Our first weekend in NYC was amazing, overwhelming and nothing short of fabulous.  I already love the city and can’t wait to start exploring (once the jet-lag is finally gone!)
Even though we only landed 3 days ago, we’ve managed to visit our favorite bagels and lox location, hole in the wall coffee spot and a much needed cupcake break.

We’ve temporarily settled on Park Ave. while I start the hunt for our permanent home.  I have always thought of this area as a bit preppy and decided to bring a bit of the edge I love by pairing an off duty denim jacket with a more polished look.

Camo

Camo is one of those prints that rotates into fashion over and over again.  At first, I was a bit hesitant considering I had seen some interpretations that were a bit to literal.  However; I quickly came around with Rag & Bone’s version. I love the subtle nod, versus full on military style, and of course hot pink was my natural choice to add the perfect girly pop.

Full Circle

Tomorrow marks the culmination of a fabulous life in Sydney and the beginning of our adventures in New York!  After weeks of packing, we have somehow fit our lives into 27 boxes and 7 suitcases (mine being the predominant number of course) 🙂

This city has provided the most amazing backdrop and I will always feel it is my second home.  My first post was shot in this very spot, overlooking one of my favorite iconic Sydney landmarks-the Harbor Bridge or “the coat-hanger”.  I thought it only fitting that my last post in Sydney revisit one of my favorite spots.

I look forward to a new chapter for Wishbone but will always be inspired by where it all started!

Mosaic

With Summer in full swing in NYC, I have to admit, I am excited to be leaving the start of Winter in the Southern hemisphere, and what better way to welcome in the sunny days than with a flirty sundress.  I fell in love with the mosaic print on this one and knew I could style it many different ways. The uneven hemline and gorgeous colors create an irresistible combination.
